Get it all out!

If you are carrying your Christmas to-do's and to-don'ts in your head, get them in your system.

  • Put All your events in your diary.

  • Make up your menus and get a food/drinks list from that.

  • Have a cleaning and maintenance list.

  • An outfits list for family members.

  • And of course a gifts list.

Once you have this it will make it easier to get creative, manage your budget, and have a great Christmas without feeling frazzled

Perfect your planning

Budgeting will be need to be tight for many of us this year, spending a little time thinking about how we can reduce cost but still have a great time, is much better than spending on things we can't afford.

Food and drink: Once you have your list shop the offers, get things which will double up, and making things from scratch can be a great way to save too.

Gifts: Go thoughtful rather than extravagant this year. A beautifully wrapped book, record or photo with a personal note is always special.

Clothing: This is a great time to go vintage with your party wear, check out vintage sales, charity shops and auction sites for things you will love and will last, so they are good for the environment too.

Cleaning and Maintenance: A few good cleaning products and a lick of paint where need is often enough to make your space look better especially once the decs go up.

Set a budget for everything and stick to it that way you'll sleep better and feel good too.

Get some help

Many of us take on too much to do at Christmas whilst others struggle to find anything worthwhile. If you are having guests ask them to bring something or do somthing, it will be good for both of you.

Keep the littlies Santa ready by giving them little tasks which mean a lot to you. Stacking the dishwasher, keeping their room tidy etc., will make things more blissful for you and they will benefit fromm the experience. Don't expect perfection, it's the contribution that counts.

Take some me time

Plan something lovely to do by yourself or with a special friend. Put it in the diary and don't let it slip. You've earned it and this will bring you a blissful memory too.
