Find Bliss
Lifestyle Update
If you are struggling with your domesticity, don't worry we all do sometimes, and this can really affect how we feel about our home, those we share it with and ourselves. There are some things you can do that can make a big difference.

-
It’s hard to solve a problem if you don’t have a good grasp of it. Try making a list of the things you are struggling with or have not yet started but you know they need doing. We recommend jotting down how long it should take for each task and how frequently it should be done. Highlight the biggest, the most urgent or the one that causes you most difficulty. Be completely honest with yourself and don’t be concerned about the length of the list or duplication - this part is more about getting down all the information.

If you're struggling for inspiration you can check out our suggestions below.

Once you have your list look through it for patterns. Are there things you have said twice but in slightly different ways? Are there things which link into other things? Are there categories where you can put a bunch of stuff together? Can one thing not be tackled until another is completed. Is there something you need before you can start a list item such as money to complete the work? Once you have your notes you can turn them into the kind of guide that works for you. Some people like a list, some like a flow chart, some like pictures, I’ve even had a paperchain where all the items were written on flat pieces of paper - colour coded to goal type (4 colours for me) and every time one was completed it got added to the other and hung up in my studio. Whatever works for you! It should be something you enjoy doing and will please you to see completed. You are awesome and seeing your progress will spur you on to complete.

Complete doesn’t mean everything on the list. Don’t expect everything to be as you see it right now; this will only lead to stress and disappointment in the future. Instead try embracing the challenges - overcoming them builds your confidence, skills and resilience, plus can be blissful to overcome them. It’s really all in how we view it. A finished product never looks like the prototype.

Bliss Builder Members work on a self-employed basis or another government-approved trading basis. It is not always possible to check the standard of work but should satisfaction not be given all our Bliss Builders are aware that we can terminate their membership with them should our high standards not be maintained. Whilst all reasonable care will be taken we cannot be held responsible for any losses as a result of the work carried out. We recommend that you check the terms of your home insurance to cover anything you feel is a risk. Bliss Builder members are part of the Bliss Business Network; they may be an existing or new business or individuals with a verified skill set.

The rules
-
All Bliss Builders must be aged 16 or over and are free to work in the UK. We verify this in our application process, but we do ask our subscribers to report any issues - this helps keep everyone safe.
-
All Bliss Builders must be experienced in the area they work in - we take and check references, qualifications, etc. if necessary and only when we are satisfied that they are able to complete the work, do we allow them to become Bliss Builder Members.
-
If you have an issue with the work, contact us immediately with images of the issue via email and we will take it up with the builder member. We cannot be held responsible for the builder's work but will endeavour to find a peaceful solution for both parties. This does not affect your statutory rights.
-
All work carried out must meet at least the minimum wage standards for the UK. These can be found here.
-
It is your responsibility to pay for the service at the time that the work is carried out, usually before the bliss member leaves your site. Many members have the option for you to pay them directly. If for whatever reason the time and/ or date of work changes it is the responsibility of the hirer and builder member to let each other know the change of time and/ or date. Sometimes things change through no fault of our own, but we do have a responsibility to let the other person know that we can no longer proceed.
-
Beware - If you don't pay the builder member or fault find with a job well done we reserve the right to remove you from the site.
-
All contracts must be clear at the start to avoid confusion and potential disputes.

How do I find a Bliss Builder Member?
Complete the find my helper form. We will raise a help request and this will be circulated to members we know who are skilled in the area you are looking for help with. They will contact you via the Find Bliss members area and if you both agree, complete our "You're Hired!" form to let us know and we'll stop looking for a helper for you. The Bliss Builder Members will receive the details from your "Find my Helper form" and the builder member you select will receive a copy of the "You're Hired! form" too. It's imperative that you complete these as accurately as possible so that expectations are clear from the start. If your new builder member has any queries from the "Your Hired form" they must be raised with you before work begins. If not they may face termination from the program.

It's worth bearing in mind that the more you are able to pay for your task the greater the choice of members you will find.
